Bradley McDougald is probably not a name that jumps out at you but his play over the last two seasons should. He made his presence felt in the Buccaneers’ defensive backfield in 2014 as a spot starter and third safety. In 15 games in 2014 McDougald totaled 50 tackles, 7 passes defended, and an interception, and earned the starting job for 2015.
Since becoming the starter, he has proven to be a proficient pass defender and an exceptional run stopper. His 91 tackles and 10 passes defended last year both ranked second on the team and McDougald entered the offseason as one of the most talented free agents on the market.
Now a Seattle Seahawk, word is McDougald has been trying out the nickel corner role in the Legion of Boom. He certainly won’t be replacing Earl Thomas or Kam Chancellor, but he’s addition to an already elite defense. Look for 50+ tackles, 10 passes defended, and a few picks from McDougald in 2017.
