The Best #34 in the NFL: Isaiah Crowell

Isaiah Crowell | Cleveland Browns | Running Back

Crowell is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Height: 5’11″ | Weight: 225

Date of Birth: 1/8/1993 (24)

Hometown: Columbus, Georgia

College: Alabama State

Draft: 2014, Undrafted

Contract: 4 years, $2.746 million, through 2017

Undrafted in 2014 due to concerns about his character, Isaiah Crowell found himself on the Browns and had to compete for his starting spot with first Terrance West, then Duke Johnson Jr. West was traded before the 2015 season and Johnson has become more of a receiver than a rusher, which opened the door for Crowell to be the lead back in 2016.

Last year, Crowell enjoyed a breakout season, his first as the full-time starting running back for the Cleveland Browns. He started all 16 games, rushing 198 times for 952 yards, and 7 touchdowns, a lone bright spot on an otherwise embarrassing Browns’ season. Crowell’s 4.8 yards per rush was tied for 9th in the league, solidifying his presence as one of the league’s top backs.

Crowell is still flying under the radar, likely due to where he is unfortunate enough to play, but that may be about to change. Expect a big year from Crowell in 2017. He should break 200 carries and 1,000 yards for the first time, and get to his first Pro Bowl in the process.
