Sean Lee has been the driving force of the Cowboys’ defense since becoming a starter in 2011. His ability to read plays as they develop, and hit the hole before the lead blocker can makes him a devastating run stopper, and Lee is among the best outside linebackers in the league in pass coverage. He is a complete defender, and a crucial piece to success in Dallas.
A First-team All-Pro in 2016, Lee ranked fourth in the NFL with a career high 145 tackles. He went to his second straight Pro Bowl, after being slowed by injuries in both 2013 and 2014. Lee has yet to complete a full 16 game season, however his performance when he is healthy speaks for itself. His worst season when playing at least 10 games came in 2013 when he totaled 99 tackles and 4 interceptions in 11 appearances.
As always, Lee’s health is the only concern when it comes to his performance this year. Should he remain on the field, he’ll continue to be a leader to a solid Cowboys defense and be among the league’s elite in disrupting the run. 150 tackles and 2 interceptions is easily attainable for Lee in 2017.
