The Best #54 in the NFL: Bobby Wagner

Bobby Wagner | Seattle Seahawks | Inside Linebacker

Wagner is entering his sixth season with Seattle.

Height: 6’0″ | Weight: 245

Date of Birth: 6/27/1990 (27)

Hometown: Los Angeles, California

Draft: 2012, Round 2, Pick 47

Contract: 5 years, $43.977 million, through 2019

Bobby Wagner may not be the first man you think of when you bring up the Seattle defense, but he should be. Wagner is the type of rare player who just seems to be everywhere, as if he is teleporting across the field. He is involved in what seems like every play that elite group makes.

This isn’t a new development. Wagner has been a beast since day one. A 15 game starter as a rookie, Wagner amassed 140 tackles, first on the Seahawks by a wide margin. Even when he missed five games in 2014, Wagner still totaled 104 tackles. His worst season was 2015, when he only had 114 tackles and 2 forced fumbles in 15 games. That was still impressive enough to see him named a Second-team All-Pro, by the way.

In 2016, Wagner led the NFL with an insane 167 tackles. That’s averaging over 10 tackles a game. Don’t expect anything different in 2017, Wagner is one of the absolute best players in football. He could hit 160 tackles again and no one would be surprised.
