The Best #66 in the NFL: David DeCastro

David DeCastro| Pittsburgh Steelers | Guard

DeCastro is entering his sixth year with the Steelers.

Height: 6’5″ | Weight: 316

Date of Birth: 1/11/1990 (27)

Hometown: Kirkland, Washington

College: Stanford

Draft: 2012, Round 1, Pick 24

Contract: 6 years, $58.07 million, through 2021

David DeCastro has been an excellent interior lineman for the Steelers since he became a starter in 2013. He is the top run blocker on a Pittsburgh team who has seen both Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams run amok over defenses since 2013. A two-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, DeCastro hasn’t missed a start since 2013, and has started 66 games in five seasons in the league.

While he doesn’t come without some drama, DeCastro is an excellent, well-rounded blocker, and has emerged as a top interior lineman in the last two seasons. He should continue that upward trend in 2017, as the Steelers’ look to continue to pound the ball with arguably the best back in the NFL.
