The Best #69 in the NFL: David Bakhtiari

David Bakhtiari | Green Bay Packers | Offensive Tackle

GB rewarded Bakhtiari’s play with a big extension last year.

Height: 6’4″ | Weight: 310

Date of Birth: 9/30/1991 (25)

Hometown: San Mateo, California

College: Colorado

Draft: 2013, Round 4, Pick 109

Contract: 5 years, $53.34 million, through 2020

David Bakhtiari was thrust into action as a rookie, and tasked with one of the most important jobs in the entire NFL. Protecting Aaron Rodgers’ blind side. It was a lot to ask for the fourth round pick out of Colorado, but he rose to the challenge, and has steadily worked his way to becoming one of the league’s elite pass blockers.

Last season, Bakhtiari was one of the top overall performing linemen in the National Football League, as he only surrendered 20 pressures all season. As a member of a largely disrespected Green Bay line, Bakhtiari is the top performer of a group who allows their quarterback the second most time to throw in the league.

The Packers’ offense will remain elite in 2017 with Rodgers and co. doing what they do best in an nigh unstoppable air attack. You can’t have that without great tackles, and the Pack has that in #69.

Awards and Accolades:

1x Pro Bowl (2016)
1x Second-team All-Pro (2016)

Honorable Mentions: Shaq Mason, Demar Dotson
