The Best #72 in the NFL: Travis Frederick

Travis Frederick | Dallas Cowboys | Center

Frederick became the NFL’s highest paid center in 2016.

Height: 6’4″ | Weight: 318

Date of Birth: 3/18/1991 (26)

Hometown: Sharon, Wisconsin

College: Wisconsin

Draft: 2013, Round 1, Pick 31

Contract: 8 years, $65.56 million, through 2023

Underrated coming out of college, Frederick was considered a second or third round pick in 2013. When the Cowboys traded back to 31st and drafted him, they were criticized for the move. Those critics, were wrong.

Frederick has been elite since day one, and has been largely responsible for the dominant rushing seasons from DeMarco Murray in 2014 and Zeke Elliott in 2016, as well as the revival of Darren McFadden’s career in 2015.

This Cowboys’ line is, in my opinion, the best the team has ever fielded. If you know your history, that is a BOLD statement, but with Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and our future top #70, this group could turn me into a 1,000 yard rusher. Look for more greatness from Mr. Frederick in 2017.

Awards and Accolades:

3x Pro Bowl (2014 – 2016)
2x Second-team All-Pro (2014, 2015)
