The Best #80 in the NFL: Jamison Crowder

Jamison Crowder | Washington Redskins | Wide Receiver

Crowder is in his third season with the Redskins.

Height: 5’9″ | Weight: 177

Date of Birth: 6/17/1993 (24)

Hometown: Monroe, North Carolina

College: Duke

Draft: 2015, Round 4, Pick 105

Contract: 4 years, $2.825 million, through 2018

A popular pick to break out last season, Jamison Crowder emerged as one of Kirk Cousins’ favorite targets, and one of the league’s best slot receivers in 2016. Thought to be buried in the depth chart behind DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and rookie Josh Doctson, Crowder found his way into the starting lineup via injuries to the receiving corps, and kept that spot thanks to his consistent play. Crowder finished the season with 67 receptions for 847 yards, good for third on the team; but his seven touchdowns, all from the slot, led the Redskins last season.

Despite the acquisition of Terrelle Pryor and a healthy Doctson, Crowder has remained Cousins’ favorite target to this point. His production this season may rely on whether he is played in the slot or outside, as his numbers last season took a noticeable hit outside the numbers. Either way, Crowder will certainly be a factor in the Washington air attack, and at worst I would expect him to put up another 800 yard season in 2017.
