Hometown: Winter Park, Florida

Draft: 2014, Undrafted

Willie Snead is a recent success story for young, undrafted free agents. Undrafted out of mid-major Ball State in 2014, Snead bounced around from Cleveland, to Carolina, and finally to New Orleans before securing a practice squad spot with the Saints. He didn’t see the field in 2014, but made the 53 man roster in 2015 after a solid summer.

Snead got his opportunity in 2015, and took advantage of it, earning a starting spot halfway through the season, and quickly becoming a mainstay in the Saints passing game. He caught 69 passes for 984 yards, and 3 touchdowns in 2015, then caught 72 for 895, and 4 touchdowns in 2016, proving to be a reliable option for star quarterback Drew Brees.

With the departure of Brandin Cooks in the offseason, Snead will likely see a larger role in the Saints offense in 2017. He will have to compete for targets with new addition Ted Ginn, this could be the season Snead breaks out and eclipses the 1,000 yard mark.
