Everson Griffen began his career as a pass rush specialist, totaling 17.5 sacks in 59 games from 2010 to 2013. With the release of Jared Allen after the 2013 season, Griffen stepped into the starting role and embraced the opportunity. In 16 games in 2014, he got to the quarterback a career high 12 times, and followed that performance with two Pro Bowl seasons in 2015 and 2016, tallying 10.5 and 8 sacks in each of those years.

In 2016, Griffen had a more complete defensive performance, forcing 2 fumbles and recovering 3 others, one of which went for a touchdown. In 3 years as a starter, Griffen has 30.5 sacks to his name and has been an every down contributor in an extremely talented Vikings front seven. Look for him to be at around 10 sacks, as well as an effective edge defender against the run in 2017.
